Before the Rain Came
I grew up in a town in Northern Rwanda, on a slope of the Virungas, where everyone always seemed to be waiting for rain.
I want to write the day before something — not the something itself. The novel is set in 24 hours, six families, one mountain.
It's the kind of historical fiction we don't get to write — slow, domestic, attentive.
